Smoke-Free Madison Update - March 2006

On March 21, 2006 the Madison City Council voted 12-8 to exempt tobacco bars from the comprehensive smoke-free Madison ordinance.

Tobacco Bars must prove that 10% of sales come from tobacco. This excludes sales of cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and the rental of humidors. Tobacco is defined as cigars, stogies, and other pipe products.

Smoking cigarettes is not permitted. Cigar bar shall not serve food.
